Terms of Service — AppliHawk

1. Acceptance

By creating an account and checking the acceptance box during registration, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

These terms form a binding agreement between you and Murali Kavassery (operator of AppliHawk, "we", "us").

2. The Service

AppliHawk provides tools to help you track job applications, manage a candidate profile, and use AI-powered features including suitability scoring and action suggestions.

The service is provided as-is during beta. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature at any time with reasonable notice.

3. AI Features — Important Disclaimer

AI suggestions are not professional advice.

Suitability scores are estimates based on text similarity between your profile and a job description. They are not a guarantee of interview success, hiring likelihood, or employer assessment.
Action suggestions are AI-generated ideas, not career, legal, or employment advice.
Parsed job descriptions and resume data may contain errors — always verify important details.
AI outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated. Do not rely on them as your sole source of information for important decisions.
We do not warrant that AI scores are free of bias. Scores should be one input among many, not a deciding factor.

4. AI Usage Limits

AI features are subject to daily usage limits per account. Limits exist to manage infrastructure costs and ensure fair access for all users. Limits are displayed in your account settings. We reserve the right to adjust limits with notice.

If your daily limit is reached, AI features will be unavailable until the following day. Basic tracking features (adding applications, notes, status updates) remain available at all times.

5. Affiliate Links & Advertising

Affiliate links: AppliHawk may display clearly labelled affiliate links to relevant third-party services (resume writing, interview prep, and similar tools) within the authenticated app. If you make a purchase through one of these links, we may receive a commission at no additional cost to you. We may earn different commission rates from different affiliate partners; we aim to recommend based on relevance to job seekers, but we cannot guarantee commission rates do not influence placement.

Display advertising: AppliHawk does not currently display advertisements from ad networks. We may introduce display advertising in the future. If we do, we will notify you by email where we hold a verified address (and display an in-app notice in any case), update both these Terms and our Privacy Policy, and comply with applicable advertising standards including UK CAP and FTC guidelines (including labelling ads clearly as "Advertisement" or "Sponsored"). We will request consent as required under UK GDPR and PECR before placing any advertising cookies.

We are not responsible for the content, pricing, quality, or terms of any third-party service accessed via an affiliate link or advertisement.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use AppliHawk to process data belonging to others without their consent
Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract data from the service
Upload malicious content, spam, or content designed to manipulate AI outputs
Share your account credentials with others
Use the service for any unlawful purpose

7. Your Data

You own the data you enter into AppliHawk. By using the service, you grant us a limited licence to process, store, and transmit your data to provide the service (including sending it to AI and email providers as described in the Privacy Policy).

You can export your data at any time from Settings → Export My Data. You can delete your account and all associated data from Settings → Delete Account (30-day recovery period applies).

8. Account Termination

You may close your account at any time in Settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with notice where reasonably possible.

On termination, your data is retained for 30 days (allowing recovery), then permanently deleted.

Refunds: AppliHawk is currently free. No refunds apply.

9. Beta Status

AppliHawk is beta software. This means:

Features may change or be removed without prior notice
Service availability is best-effort, not guaranteed
Data migrations between versions will be performed with care, but we cannot guarantee zero data loss during major platform changes
We will communicate known risks via in-app notifications or email where possible

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, AppliHawk is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for:

Decisions you make based on AI-generated content
Loss of data due to service outages or beta limitations
Indirect, consequential, or incidental damages arising from use of the service
Actions or omissions of third-party sub-processors

Our total aggregate liability to you shall not exceed £100 (or equivalent local currency).

11. Changes to Terms

We will notify you by email and/or in-app notification of material changes to these terms. Continued use after the effective date of changes constitutes acceptance. If you do not accept updated terms, please close your account before the effective date.

The version number and date at the top of this document change each time terms are updated materially.

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except where local mandatory consumer protection law applies.
